Holdem is just about players and position. All knowledgeable Texas Holdem players agree that position in no restriction Holdem is critically important. Playing your hole cards in late position will be a whole lot more profitable than in starting poker position. This is because a whole lot more information is collected prior to acting.
For example, I played in a $1-$2 no limit money match at a local spot. I limped in with 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier button, so I could see some fun. Flop arrived A-A-4. A person in early position made a fifteen dollar bet. Two players fold and it was my turn to act. I really should have folded, but his betting felt a little odd. I read this guy as a weak-tight guy, and usually if he held the number one hand he would only check, so I called.
The turn showed with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My opposer made another wager of $20. I debated a bit, but took a chance to re-raise a further $30thirty dollars over and above his twenty dollars. He dropped out and I take the chips.
Wagering at late position allows you an insight into where you are positioned by seeing how other entrants carry oneself and bet. On the other hand, gamblers at starting position can use their poker spot to check-raise the late positioned competitors and corner them later at the end. In Texas Hold’em, both spots, last and early should be bet carefully.
